Sigma prepared unsuccessfully for Řezníček. He showed that he is the driving force of Brno, acknowledged Jemelka

“We are all terribly disappointed. This is not how we imagined it. At the same time, we entered the match excellently. We could have decided in the first ten minutes. Unfortunately, we did not succeed in terms of shooting, we got a goal from Řezniček out of practically nothing, for which we were preparing. However, he unexpectedly took over the ball and hit it beautifully. Bad for us. However, we are moving on and we have to focus on the next matches,” declared the native of Unice.

He himself was not completely blameless when conceding a goal. “Sevčík passed, then shot, and I made the first move with the shot, it somehow hit Říza in the heel, it bounced, and he shot from the turn and hit it. Maybe I could have gotten closer to him. But it was rather an unfortunate situation, which he solved excellently,” said the defender from Olomouc.

During the week, he and his partner from the stopper duo Vraštil specially prepared for the experienced striker of Zbrojovka. “We trained it so that we wouldn’t stick to it. We knew we had to cover players who could get it down because he doesn’t keep it up very often himself. That’s why we focused more on the runs. But he is a seasoned fighter who scored a lot of goals in the league. You can see that he has experience. He is hard to play against. He is excellent with his back to goal. It’s hard to get to. They have to double up, but we didn’t do that very well. We played to the fullest and were mostly alone on him. He is now the main driver of Brno and he showed us that. Still, we should have dealt with him better,” Jemelka knew.

He also greatly regretted Sigma’s failure to capitalize on the initial pressure. “It’s a shame. They played and we, by consistently pressing, gave them a hard time. Later, they simplified the game a bit, then we had to go into a full, dense block, and we didn’t do well. We didn’t even help ourselves with standards. We had none in the first half. It was hard to get past them. They were breaking us. We probably lacked more patience and quality,” he noted.

In addition to the unsuccessful match, he is also troubled by the fact that it is still not decided whether he will go to Pilsen, which is very interested in him, or whether he will stay. “Negotiations have been going on since the beginning of the preparation. The clubs have to agree and I’m waiting to see what happens. It’s complicated for me. For a moment it looks like I could go there, then again that nothing will come of it. It is not easy to concentrate. But I try to do my best on the field. I communicate with the coaches and if it were to affect me in any way, I would probably not play. But they think that there is no danger yet,” Jemelka described.
