The haunting began at around 6:30 p.m. and lasted for around half an hour, according to posts on social media. On Facebook, users commented on the atmosphere as “ghostly” and also posted photos with the dark houses in the foreground and the still glowing Baden in the background. Some also reported ongoing problems with the internet.
That evening, the Siggenthal Electricity Cooperative commented on its website. Due to work on the network, one of the main feeders had to be switched off on Monday morning, which led to switchovers in EGS’s own network.
In the evening there was an emergency shutdown. The reason: “The expected maximum output was significantly exceeded at 6:32 p.m.,” says the cooperative. This caused a medium-voltage protection device to be activated. The entire supply network was able to be supplied with electrical energy again at 7:02 p.m. (pin)
