It was 4.30 p.m. on March 26, when a 26-year-old man got on the bus in Thionville in the direction of Sierck-les-Bains. There, he sees a minor with whom he had already had an altercation a week earlier.
The tone rises, the two young men provoke each other, jostle each other, insult each other. “He started to confuse me by lighting the fuse”, justifies the first before the criminal court of Thionville. And to explain: “The driver asked me to calm down. But he (the minor, Editor’s note) started to heat me again when I got off the bus in Sierck ”. Witnesses report having seen the defendant brandish a knife in the direction of the youngest and have forced him to follow him in an alley – rue Saint-Christophe – out of sight. “He was the one who kept following me so I shot in the air so that he left me alone.”

A weapon that “reassures” him
Three shots, perhaps four, were fired in the direction of the victim after a local resident who said he saw the shooter then pick up the casings.
“What were you doing with a gun?” », Retorts the president of the tribunal. The Thionvillois, already sentenced five times for acts of violence and prohibited from carrying a weapon, does not seem to measure the scope of his gesture: “These are blank bullets”, he defends himself. “What about the knife? “” I never had a knife. “Why are you walking around with even a blank weapon on you?” », Asks the magistrate again. “Because they (four minors, Editor’s note) gave me a Mickey Mouse face a week before and I don’t feel reassured”.
Nine months in prison are required by the public prosecutor against anyone who “does not respect the prohibitions” and “cannot control himself”. He was finally sentenced to a sentence of twelve months, six of which were accompanied by a probationary suspension of two years, obligation to work, to take care of himself, and to fifteen years of ban on carrying a weapon.
