“Siena heart of Tuscany” marketing project, presentation in New York and London

Siena heart of Tuscany will be presented on the occasion of the closing of the exhibition Siena: the rise of painting

On the occasion of the closing of the exhibition Siena: The Rise of Painting, 1300-1350 in program already Metropolitan Museum in New York from 7 October 2024 to 26 January 2025 – and then at the National Gallery in London from 8 March to 22 June 2025 – the new project for the promotion of the tourism, food and wine and artisan supply chain entitled will be presented Siena Heart of Tuscany.

Two events are scheduled a New York in January 2025: on 17 January at the Church of Santa Maria Vergine and on 23 January at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò. The speakers of the two events will be Roberto Bechi (tour guide and tour operator), Patricia Camerota (social media manager), Brian Gendace (documentary producer and director), the prof. Roberto Guiggiani (professor of evolution of tourist markets at the Campus Foundation) and the prof. Eugenio Refini (professor of Italian literature at New York University Art & Sciences)

“Siena as the heart of Tuscany in a double sense. – explain the project coordinators Roberto Bechi and Roberto Guiggiani – As a place that expresses all the passion of this city towards art, the cultural influences received and transmitted over the centuries, and the capacity to welcome, which have made it a great destination for international tourism. But also, and perhaps above all, as the geographical heart of Tuscany, a starting point for a three/four day stay for a non-superficial visit to the entire regional territory”.

Although it may seem counterintuitive compared to the so-called isolation of Siena in terms of communication routes, the city is instead located at the center of a vast territory which is strongly steeped in Sienese history, culture and art. It has great routes such as the Via Francigena and the Eroica, the presence of four UNESCO sites, an area with some of the most famous DOCG wines and extraordinary DOP and IGP food products.

Siena Heart of Tuscany is a territorial marketing project – which was born under the aegis of the National Association of Italian Hospitality Made in Italy (ANOI) – which focuses not on quantity – tourist flows from the United States and Anglo-Saxon countries are already significant and growing – but instead on the segmentation and profiling of tourists to turn to. A program capable of combining cultural dissemination and hospitality services along the entire supply chain, to attract an audience eager for a truly complete visit to the heart of Tuscany.
