Siemens secures largest order ever in Egypt: 8.1 billion euros worth of railways and trains | Abroad

The group from Munich signed the contract on Saturday, together with two partners. For Siemens, it concerns a deal of 8.1 billion euros, including a contract worth 2.7 billion euros that was already agreed last year.

The aim is to build a 2,000-kilometer high-speed rail network, connecting 60 cities in Egypt. In addition to rail infrastructure and maintenance, Siemens also supplies 41 high-speed trains, 94 regional trains and 41 freight locomotives.
