Siemens Switzerland has published its annual report for the past fiscal year. The company had slightly increased sales in the previous year from 2.12 to 2.13 billion francs. According to the press release, the main reason for this increase is the growth in the digitization business.
In addition to the growth in sales, the number of employees rose from 5300 to 5900 last year. This is explained by the acquisition of Varian Medical Systems by Siemens Healthineers.
Digital Industries Software main driver for growth
The main driver of sales growth this year is the Digital Industries Software business unit. According to the press release, this part of the company mainly deals with digitization solutions for companies.
Business with charging solutions for electric buses also got off to a good start after the first charging stations were put into operation at Zurich Airport. In addition to the Zurich and Bernmobil transport companies, other operators have placed orders, according to Siemens.
The Swiss software industry is also growing – but this year more slowly than expected. Read here how the recovery from Corona is taking place.
