Siem Offshore, Atlantic Sapphire, and Hofseth BioCare: Q2 Financial Reports and Market Reactions

Siem Offshore also presented figures on Friday morning and the market is positively surprised by what they saw, the share jumped 7.1 per cent on the figures to NOK 21.75.

Siem Offshore had operating income of 88.8 million dollars in the second quarter, up from 75.3 million in the same quarter last year. Profit before tax improved sharply in the same period – from 19.6 million dollars to 30.1 million dollars.

“Expectations of increased activity around the world continue to strengthen, albeit at a slower pace than expected. We reiterate our positive opinion that our advanced fleet will be in demand for many years to come.”

Atlantic Sapphire fell 51 percent to NOK 2.21 after it emerged in the quarterly report that the company is in breach of the loan terms.

Petter Stordalen has participated in three share issues and lost NOK 170 million in Atlantic Sapphire. Now he has guaranteed another issue.

“The share is not investable,” said Kepler Cheuvreux analyst Christian Nordby to Finansavisen at the beginning of August when Atlantic Sapphire presented its operating update for the first half of the year.

Atlantic Sapphire did not explicitly mention how much money it will have to raise to ensure liquidity. According to Carnegie seafood analyst Philip M. Scrase, the company needs to raise at least $30 million, and preferably $50 million. This corresponds to approximately NOK 535 million.

Hofseth BioCare rose 5.6 per cent to NOK 3.20 after presenting figures which showed a doubling of income. After presenting red figures in “all years”, the company delivers an operating profit of NOK 8.4 million and a profit before tax of NOK 5.8 million.

Other movements

Hafnia and Grieg Seafood both presented figures on Friday and respectively ended up 0.2 per cent and ended down 3.1 per cent.

Crayon ended down 3.1 per cent and continued yesterday’s decline, Elkem rose 3.3 per cent, Gjensidige rose 2 per cent and Kitron ended up 2.2 per cent.
