Stuttgart (dpa) Unlike many other tennis professionals, Fed Cup player Laura Siegemund can still train on the court even during the coronavirus crisis. The Swabian is currently in Florida.

“So far this has been right for me because, unlike Europe, it is nice and warm here and I can do a super training on the tennis court better than at home,” said Siegemund (32) to the Reutlinger General-Anzeiger. However, she also currently restricts her life and does not visit a gym or restaurant, for example.
Since the beginning of March, the world ranking 65 has been held. with her Italian friend and trainer Antonio Zucca in the USA. She had traveled to Indian Wells and Miami for the later canceled tournaments. “We didn’t want to venture a long-haul flight to Europe in close contact with other people, so we might have to be in quarantine for two weeks,” said Siegemund, explaining the decision to stay in Florida for the time being. The tennis tour is currently at least until June 7th due to the virus spreading.
