Sidemen, led by rapper KSI, launched their own fast food last year. Now the concept comes to Norway.

The company Livly and their chefs will cook the food in their kitchens at Grünerløkka and Frogner in Oslo. The YouTube group already has food sales in England and Dubai.

Cloud kitchen

– We are a cloud kitchen that cooks on behalf of restaurants only for take away. They give us recipes, then we take care of the rest, says Livly boss Jonas Stokke.

– Sidemen has a very large following in Scandinavia and in Norway in particular. When they wanted to establish themselves here, they contacted us. They have a chicken concept that became hugely popular when they launched it in England.

Stokke expects everything to be ready by the end of April.

MUST MAKE THE FOOD: Jonas Stokke’s company Livly will be responsible for the cooking. Ordering and sales take place through delivery services such as Foodora and Wolt.

Cloud kitchen, or «ghost kitchen»gained momentum in several parts of the world during the corona pandemic.

– There has been an enormous growth in takeaway. It was something you also saw before the pandemic, says Stokke.

A survey conducted by the Consumer Research Institute SIFO last year showed that among city dwellers under the age of 39, two out of ten had eaten takeaway once or more a week in the past two months.

On a national basis, it turned out that seven out of ten had eaten it once a month or more often during the last two months.

Noah Valen-Utvik (18) works for Sidemen’s food project on social media, and was recently in London when Sides had “pop up” sales.

There he met several of the YouTube stars.

– You should not ignore the fact that there will be “pop ups” in Norway eventually, and then it is very possible that some of the Sidemen guys will come by.
