Types of breast cancer treatment include surgery, radiation, hormone therapy, and chemotherapy.
“The main treatment for breast cancer is surgery. The operation depends on the size and location of the tumor,” said doctor Arief.
Breast cancer surgery consists of removing only the lump, removing the breast and nipple, the nipple and chest muscles, the breast mound without the nipple or skin, and the entire breast.

The operation will be postponed temporarily if the tumor is too large and there are wounds.
Women with breast cancer need to undergo chemotherapy first.
“(Chemotherapy) if stage 4 is possible, generally we value 6 cycles of administration. Six times of administration (chemotherapy drugs) generally every three weeks,” he explained.
Chemotherapy is generally successful in reducing the size of malignant breast cancer tumors so that they can be operated on or removed.
Side effects of chemotherapy that may be experienced by breast cancer patients include nausea and vomiting, constipation, heartburn, fever, muscle joint pain, dizziness, and menstrual disorders.
After undergoing surgery, breast cancer sufferers are required to undergo radiation therapy.

“After surgery to remove the lump, radiation must be carried out. It’s called BCT (Breast Conversing Therapy) which consists of a combination of surgery to remove the lump and radiation,” said doctor Arief.
As chemotherapy, radiation breast cancer It also has effects such as discoloration of the skin on the chest, sores and scabs, fatigue, and anemia.
