Rob says that he has benefited a lot from his wife, Henriëtte. “Especially during the period when I had just received that diagnosis and realized what it entailed. That was of course a shock. But we said: ‘Okay, so we have to deal with this.’ I also don’t know what the end point is. I don’t want to know either. ”

“But when I go, I will experience the same as any human will ever experience,” he continues. “The only thing I hope is that it will happen calmly. I actually find it especially exciting. How will that feel later? It is something that you do not know.” His eight-year-old son also takes good care of his father. “He is very sweet and caring. Always make sure that I don’t trip. “Watch out, there’s a cord there, Dad!” I find that moving. He takes over the direction of the house a bit from me. Very cute, although I would have preferred it differently of course. ”

“He’s actually the only one I worry about sometimes,” Rob continues. “Then I think: oh God, that eight-year-old boy. What does he think if his father turns the corner at some point? I think I still have a while, but you never know.”
