Sick father Martijn Koning causes tears: ‘Last weekend I can eat and talk’ | Show

The number of Stef Bos, Papa, is thirty years old. Reason enough for the editors of Eve to invite fathers and sons to talk about their bond this season. Martijn Koning and his father kicked off tonight. The two men shared a moving story with the audience and viewers at home.

“Unfortunately I am afflicted with a phenomenon called cancer,” said Bram Koning, the father of the comedian in the broadcast. “It’s the fourth time now that the tumors have come back, so I’ve already had a whole series of surgeries.” It started with a hereditary disease, which eventually led to many operations, he explained. “From colon cancer to open heart surgery.”

Unfortunately, the cancer also came back in King’s mouth. Still, the doctors found a way out, but then another operation is needed. “It will be a very drastic operation,” said Koning, after which he described the treatment plan in detail. Next Monday he has to report to the hospital. “This is in all probability the last weekend that I can still talk and eat. They are doing their very best and I have great confidence in the team. ”

Stef Bos, who was also a guest in the broadcast, was allowed to close the first week of the talk show with the song Papa. It couldn’t have been more appropriate after the gripping story of Martijn and his father. It did not take long for the table guests to shed their tears.

Presenter Fidan Ekiz could not hold back her tears, but also Britt Dekker, who three years ago lost her father after a fall, did not keep it dry. “We are seated then”, Renze Klamer reacted after Bos’ performance.

There is also full praise for the emotional moment on Twitter. “Perhaps the TV clip of the year,” wrote one viewer. And someone else: ‘Gosh what a fierce story by brave Bram Koning and a beautiful emotional closing with Stef Bos!’
