Sicily in the yellow zone from today, Monday 30 August, with new rules and measures – but without curfew – to stem coronavirus infections and the spread of covid. In the region, which yesterday recorded another 1,369 cases with a new increase in hospitalizations and intensive care, this is what changes after the ordinance signed last August 27 by the Minister of Health Speranza, which certifies the passage of color from the white area of the rest of Italy.
From today in Sicily it is compulsory to wear masks outdoors. However, there is no curfew. You can enter and exit the region in the yellow zone and it is possible to reach second homes outside the region regardless of the color of the start and finish area. Compared to the white zone, no changes to the functions of the Green pass: the green certificate – for vaccinated, cured or negative subjects with swabs – will allow, for example, access to indoor restaurants and bars, where the limit of 4 people at the table returns, unless they are cohabitants. Outdoors, the service can be offered to everyone. The green pass is essential for access to a series of activities and services (swimming pools, gyms, spas, cinemas, theaters, theme parks, congresses and fairs). Sicily will be in the yellow zone on September 1st, when the green pass becomes mandatory to take advantage of long-distance transport (trains, airplanes and ships).
As the latest covid decree also establishes, in the sports facilities of a region in the yellow zone “the permitted capacity cannot exceed 25% of the maximum authorized and, in any case, the maximum number of spectators cannot exceed 2,500 for outdoor plants and 1,000 for indoor plants “.
The latest bulletin portrays a complex situation: there are 1,369 infections recorded yesterday, once again the highest number among the Italian regions. 10 deaths recorded: 1 on August 28, 8 on August 27 and 1 on August 26. 108 people are being treated in intensive care (4 more than yesterday). The patients in the non-critical area are 914 (+21). The figure of the healed is 864 people. The molecular swabs processed were 7092. The rapid swabs were 6414. Among the provinces, Palermo stands out with 343 cases.
