SiCepat Opens Up About the Issue of Mass Layoffs for Couriers that Go Viral on Social Media

SiCepat open a voice about the issue of mass termination of employment (PHK) against the courier which is viral on social media. Hundreds of couriers are said to have been laid off unilaterally and without severance pay.

PT SiCepat Ekspres Indonesia stated that the problems that occurred were being resolved in a familial manner and the applicable rules.

“This problem is being resolved in a family way and in accordance with the rules that apply,” said SiCepat in his Instagram upload, @sicepat_ekspres, quoted by detikcom, Tuesday (15/3/2022).

SiCepat’s management also apologized for the inconvenience caused by the viral case on social media.

“Following up on the problems that occurred on social media recently, we, the management of PT SiCepat Ekspres Indonesia, apologize profusely for the inconvenience,” said SiCepat.

“We also hope that all SiCepat Friends will continue to give full support to each other in solving this case so that everything can go well. We thank you very much for your attention,” continued SiCepat.

Previously, it was viral on Twitter social media regarding the news of layoffs by the logistics company PT Sicepat Express Indonesia. Layoffs reportedly carried out to hundreds of couriers.

One of the Twitter accounts @ar**no**a*t*_i* shared the news while including two images in the form of photos and screenshots.

It was stated that SiCepat was conducting a wave of layoffs for couriers in Jabodetabek, the number of which reached 365 couriers. Interestingly, it was stated that they were asked to sign a letter of resignation.

“The goal is that the company does not pay severance pay and other rights for couriers,” he tweeted as quoted on Sunday (13/3/2022).

Two of the pictures included, one of which is allegedly a resignation letter, which the courier asked to sign. While the screenshot is suspected to be a post by one of SiCepat’s couriers.

It was also stated that the company allegedly did this to replace couriers with permanent employee status with outsourced couriers.
