Four people were wounded with bladed weapons in Paris this Friday, next to the building of the former newsroom of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, the police of the French capital announced.
Two of the injured are in a state of “absolute emergency“and the two alleged perpetrators of the attack are”on the run“, added the city hall.
A suspect has since been arrested, a police source announced, the Reuters agency said.
The circumstances of what happened are not known for now.
Authorities asked the public to avoid the area.
Shortly after the attack, Emmanuel Grégoire, deputy mayor of Paris wrote on Twitter that the police are looking for a potentially dangerous individual.
The former newsroom of the newspaper was the target, on January 7, 2015, of a ‘jihadist’ attack that left 12 dead and five seriously injured.

About 100 media outlets in France have published an open letter calling for the defense of freedom of expression, in support of Charlie Hebdo magazine, when the 2015 bombings are being tried.
