Legendary soap opera actor and director Si Target, Early Carnot, revealing the reasons why today’s soap operas don’t use logic, such as Wife’s Heart.
“So, sometimes logic is not used now because we are chasing something that has to be fast. If I used to make Si Doel, for example, from Si Doel one to Si Doel two it could stop for one year,” said Rano in a joint interview. CNN Indonesia TV.
Rano then said, “Nowadays, people are filming, at the end of the location the screenwriter is also typing [naskah]. So how can we control the quality of the story? It finally broke.”
In making Si Doel, Rano continued, one episode might take one week to 10 days. However, soap operas are now required to be fast, which is two days for one episode.
This condition makes the players involved do not have time for the reading process or reading the script, especially for character deepening.
Rano then discussed Suara Hati Istri, a soap opera that is currently being discussed due to the polemic of an underage actress as the third wife.
“I’m sorry. The soap operas that are currently crowded, I don’t watch, but I read, then I feel sorry for this child. It’s not the child who is wrong, but the concept of the story. It means that the story is an ordinary story,” he said.
“In the past there was a religious leader who led a pesantren, it wasn’t about polygamy, but marrying a 12-year-old child and that became a problem. If he doesn’t marry a 12-year-old, it might not be a problem. And this happens in soap operas. Don’t they read this?”
According to Rano Karno, the plot of soap operas like this can pass because many parties do not pay attention to accountability to the public, unlike when he was still working on Si Doel.
“Imagine, tonight it will be broadcast, in the afternoon it will be delivered to the TV station. The TV station is no longer seen. It used to be called controlling so tight TV stations. A week before the show we have to submit the master. Now no, the station just plays around,” said Rano.
“Si Doel is 30 years old, but the number of episodes is only 160 compared to 200 thousand Tukang Porridge Naik Haji. That’s extraordinary. The industrial system demands that we put aside many factors.”
