The third single from the forthcoming album of the group “Juuk” has been released – the song “Loneliness of the Unlucky” is a classic ballad of wanderings of the mind and body through the dark streets of Lithuania at the end of the 20th century.
“Loneliness of unsuccessful people” in the version of the poet Antanas A. Joninas reads as “Paškindināt atsliņiņas”. It was sung by Pēters Brūveris, and the music was written by the leader of the band “Juuk” Edgars Šubrovskis. The song was performed by: Edgars Šubrovskis – voice, guitar, bass guitar; Sniedze Prauliņa – flute; Oskar Jansson – banjo; Rasa Pole – violin; Kalvis Sležis-Zaľkalns – drums. It was recorded and mixed by Ingus Bauškėnieks in the “Bicycle Systems” studio, while the text video of the song was drawn and animated by Didzis Upens, who is also known as a member of the group “Velns Nõu Zin”.
The sound and content of the album “Muļķa stabule” could be called Baltic folk rock ballads – it will be poetry by Latvian and Lithuanian authors with music by Oskar Jansons, Edgar Šubrovskis and Sniedze Prauliņa. The listeners have already heard the songs “Arlekīns” and “Poet”, which in 2021 and 2022 took the first places in the “Radio Naba” Latvian songs of the year chart. The new album is expected in the second half of spring.
You can see and hear the band “Juuk” “live” on February 25 at the House of Congress, at a support concert for Ukraine, while on March 17 they will perform at the “Depo” club. Solo concert of Edgar Shubrovskis – on February 17 in the club “Republika”.
