(ANSA) – TURIN, APRIL 26 – An exhibition just for young people and, for everyone, a ‘Tent of the Shroud’ in which to experience the sacred linen in different ways, also through new technologies. Thus Turin will celebrate the jubilee year in 2025, as announced today by the archbishop, Monsignor Roberto Repole. “We won’t do a classic exhibition – he explained -, but let’s experiment with new ways of being custodians of the Shroud. First of all, starting with young people, with whom we have undertaken a catechetical journey on the foundations of Christianity, because it can be nice for them to be first of all to regain contact with this cloth and, through it, with the freshness of the gospel, above all the profound sense of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus”. Around May 4, 2025 there will therefore be an exhibition reserved for young people, while for everyone – Repole specified – “there will be a possibility of contact with the Shroud even if in different ways. I think it is also a way of saying that the church does not uses only ways from the past but also from today, for example digital and multimedia possibilities”. In Piazza Castello, in spring 2025, a tent will be set up in which to learn about and get closer to the Shroud through documents, images, videos and podcasts. “The Shroud – concludes Repole – is a heritage that concerns us all, it is such an important treasure for the Church and must be an opportunity to communicate the Gospel in a new way”.
