Obsidian Entertainment has detailed the Grounded Shroom and Doom update, which will introduce major changes to the buildings and add the first boss to the game.
The Shroom and Doom update for the cooperative survival game Grounded was revealed during E3 2021 at the Xbox y Bethesda Games Showcase, showing a lot of new content that will arrive at the end of June. The update, which will introduce the first boss of the game Y construction mechanics improvements, is part of the change of Obsidian Entertainment, which has gone from small frequent updates to the occasional Grounded updates with more content.
Obsidian launched Grounded in Early Access in July 2020, with a full release planned for a later date. During its Early Access state, Obsidian has been providing fixes and new content, including updating the Koi pond and the addition of bees and mosquitoes. Updating Shroom and Doom intends to keep adding fun changes to the game, like critter-shaped pets, the ability to sit on chairs and much more.
During the Xbox Games Extended Showcase, the game director, Adam Brennecke, and the person in charge of the community, Aarik Dorobiala, they spoke at length about the update. Brennecke explained that mushrooms will play a fundamental role in the construction of structures, since now players will be able to collect mushrooms of any size, which will become “Mushroom stuff” which will have to be ground and baked in an oven to create mushroom bricks. These mushroom bricks can be used for build more fortified structures in Grounded, with the possibility of building castles and other fortresses.
The Shroom and Doom update will introduce Grounded’s first boss: the Brood Mother, an imposing spider which players will have to defeat using your most powerful team. Brennecke explained that the Brood Mother was originally included in Grounded at the time of launch, but the team considered that it was not “Hit the spot”, so it was removed and adjusted to present a more suitable challenge.
Brennecke said the team is looking forward to listen to community feedback about this first boss and urged players to express their opinions on the difficulty level and rewards to upgrade future bosses. If Adam Brennecke and the Obsidian team continue to add significant changes to Grounded like those found in the Shroom and Doom update, players should have a lot to look forward to when the game is fully released.
The update Shroom and Doom de Grounded will be available for consoles Xbox and PC on June 30, 2021.
