Governor Omar Prieto held a new meeting on Tuesday 4-A with the representatives of the shrimp guild in the state of Zulia, with the aim of fine-tuning the actions that promote fishing activity in the area and guarantee compliance with preventive measures and containment of the covid-19.
Prieto highlighted that to facilitate the work of the shrimp companies, they will be supported with fuel and safe-conducts will be granted to workers for their mobility outside the hours established in quarantine. Decision that incorporates them as a prioritized sector of the Zulia economy in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic.
The meeting was held at the Governors’ Official Residence, where the regional authority urged “the fishing union to reinvigorate the production process with government support and to fine-tune strategies that contribute to increasing the commercialization and export of the product during the pandemic, for the sake of generate non-oil currencies to the nation and continue to overcome the obstacles caused by the economic blockade, “according to a press release issued by the Zulia Government.
In this regard, Prieto explained that he offered an answer to the concerns of the producers and incorporated civil and military organizations, among them, into the understanding process; Seniat, Port of Maracaibo, Canalizations and the mayor of San Francisco, Dirwings Arrieta, with whom guidelines were established to accelerate the productivity of the companies of the union.
