Cologne –
Twitter is no longer a social medium, insults and shitstorms are the order of the day. But on Monday evening (February 1st) the Twitter community surprised – and not with hatred, but with a lot of encouragement and sometimes very touching reactions to the first broadcast of the Vox two-part “Showtime of my Life – Stars against Cancer”.

The aim of the show: to save lives together and to draw attention to cancer prevention. In return, eight prominent women dropped their covers in front of the camera on Monday evening:
Lili Paul-Roncalli
Elena Career
Mimi Fiedler
Mirja du Mont
Nadine Angerer
Nicole Staudinger
Stefanie Hertel
Ulla Kock am Brink
“Showtime of my Life”: Many tears flow when it comes to cancer
“Is it okay to show bare skin for a good cause?” Asked a Twitter user right from the start of the show. But the celebrity ladies were also emotionally bare: “It was very difficult for me to reveal such intimate things,” said Ulla Kock am Brink, who lost her father and brother-in-law to cancer.
Each of the women had an emotional story to tell. And during the filming, participant Nadine Angerer (42) was suddenly affected by cancer herself.
The dramatic revelations of the celebrity women concerned also left the audience anything but cold. And it showed once again that cancer affects us all.

Read an excerpt of the Twitter comments here:
Why am I looking at this? #stars against cancer. Because my grandma died of breast cancer. My mother, sister and aunt all had breast cancer. So there is a high risk that it will catch me too. I go to preventive care regularly. I’m still scared.
Admirable what women are willing to do to raise awareness of cancer prevention. I could not do it.
Something different and I find it pleasant so far. It doesn’t always have to be sensational.
I just wanted to take a quick look at #showtimeofmylife. Now I am totally touched. Strong beautiful women. Important concern.
Blank drawing has never been more sensible and emotional.
I already have goosebumps and I am incredibly touched.
You cry, you laugh and learn how important (and not bad at all) it is to go to cancer screening.
Already one of the best shows of the year!
Great idea to draw attention to this topic at prime time, which affects significantly more people than you think
It’s normal for me to cry from almost the first minute, right? OR?
