Russia celebrates “Victory Day”, the day Nazi Germany capitulated during World War II on 9 May.

And as is well known, it is not exactly children’s trains, flags and cheers that will contribute to the celebration in the Russian capital.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has eased the veil and revealed what kind of flying war machines will be displayed to celebrate the big day.

77 planes and helicopters will fly over Moscow, to celebrate the number of years that have passed since the end of World War II.

Among what is to be shown is according to CNN the giant Su-35S fighter jet, Mig 29 fighter jets, Su-57 fighter jets, Mi8 helicopters, the Tu-22M3 bomber, and the world’s largest transport helicopter, the Mi-26.

BOMB PLAYER NEEDED: A Tu-22M3 bomber similar to the one to be shown on May 9 in Moscow.

The Ministry of Defense writes that eight MiG-29MT fighter jets will fly over the red square and shape the letter “Z”, in support of those who contribute to the invasion of neighboring Ukraine, or as the Ministry of Defense still calls it: the Special Operation in Ukraine.

The Tu-160 bomber, nicknamed “The White Swan”, will pair with the Il-78 tanker.

The celebration ends in the traditional way with a total of 15 different military aircraft that will “decorate” the sky over Moscow in the Russian tricolor.

Nothing is left to chance when it comes to celebrating Victory Day. As early as April 29, downtown Moscow was filled with Russian military vehicles rehearsing the parade.

MILITARY HELICOPTERS: The world’s largest transport helicopter Mi-26 and two helicopters of the smaller type Mi-24.

History professor Klas-Göran Karlsson at Lund University has previously stated to VG that “Russian propaganda will go up a higher unit” if Putin succeeds in linking success in Ukraine, with the celebration of “Victory Day”.

– Putin builds very much of his rhetoric on World War II – or rather the second half of World War II. He would rather not talk about the first part.

The degree of success achieved in Ukraine is also highly debatable. Russia has not achieved any of the goals set for the “special operation”, among them what the Russians call “denazification” and “demilitarization” of Ukraine.

Britain’s Defense Secretary Ben Wallace believes Putin may be forced to declare war on Ukraine on May 9, because he needs more soldiers.
