Daisy Coleman, known worldwide for the Netflix documentary “Audrie & Daisy”, passed away at 23 years old. The activist’s mother, Melinda Moeller Coleman, was responsible for confirming that her famous daughter killed herself on Tuesday, August 4.
“My daughter Catherine Daisy Coleman committed suicide tonight. She was my best friend and amazing daughter. I think I had to make it look like I could live without it. I can not. I wish I could have taken the pain away! She never recovered from what those guys did to her (referring to her sexual abuse) and it’s not fair. My girl is gone ”, Melinda Moeller expressed in a Facebook message.
The mother of Daisy Coleman She also explained that despite everything she did to forget the abuse she suffered, Daisy was never able to recover from the attack she experienced in her teens.
“My Belle couldn’t take it anymore. She said she loved me and just hoped it would make me proud. You made me proud every day of your life Belle. Everyday! I love you so much”, added in another post.
In 2016, Daisy Coleman told her story in the Netflix documentary, which also told the story of Audrie Pott, a teenager who was also a victim of sexual abuse, much like Daisy. Pott committed suicide 10 days after her attack.
