In the north and west of the country, showers with rain or (wet) snow may have led to icy conditions locally. The KNMI previously issued code yellow for these parts of the country.
Reports of slippery roads came particularly from the Haarlem region last night, says an ANWB spokesperson. An accident has occurred on the A22 between Beverwijk and Velsen. According to the spokesperson, it’s not clear whether this has anything to do with the smoothness.
The yellow code is valid until Friday morning. The slipperiness from last night will disappear during the day, but it may slip again by the end of the afternoon. At first mainly in the northwestern half of the country, then in the evening black ice can also form elsewhere. Only in Limburg is there a small chance of slipperiness, according to the KNMI.
