Works by Picasso, Chagall, Dali, Miro, Mathis and Fernand Leger will be shown at the Vivacom Art Hall in Sofia on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
Admission to the Modernists of the 20th Century exhibition is free.
It opens on December 1 at 6:30 pm in the Hall of the Gallery and will last until December 22, 2021.
Visitors will be able to see 14 new and unseen exhibits by Pablo Picasso from the Carnet de la Californie series (a portfolio of 25 lithographs from the 500 edition, printed by the Mourlot studio, Paris) and the Bullfights.
Works by Salvador Dali from the “Sacra Bible” series, which contains the text of the Bible with 105 color lithographs created in 1963-1964, will be shown. This is the largest published series with illustrations by the author.
Marc Chagall’s works are from his Bible series (1960). The portfolio includes 24 color lithographs, each of which illustrates a scene from an Old Testament text. Among them are “The Expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden”, “The Prayer of Job” and others.
Viewers will also enjoy new works by Juan Miró and Mathis and others.
Some of the paintings come from the famous Atelier Murlo in New York, the world’s largest publisher of original graphic art, which works with artists. Posters from already realized exhibitions of the modernists and the Atelier will also be shown.
All works will be available for purchase and become part of the collections of Bulgarian fans.
Due to the huge interest in last year’s online exhibition “The Bible through the eyes of Chagall and Dali” in Vivacom Art Hall Oborishte 5 Gallery, seen by 50,000 people, this year amateurs and collectors will have the opportunity to experience live the exceptional works of the Modernists. The gallery is the first in Bulgaria to display and sell original graphic works to the great masters of art. He works with authorized foundations, publishing houses and families of artists, added Gergova.
Vivacom Art Hall Oborishte 5 Gallery, as a successor of Modern Art Gallery, was established in November 2009 in Sofia and is located at 5 Oborishte Street. It has two exhibition halls. Visitors can view exhibitions, attend jazz or classical concerts, organize events, cocktails, art bazaars, entertainment and cultural events, children’s art academies, etc.
