Shoulder to Shoulder delivers donations from the private sector to the GORE La Libertad for the victims – News from Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru

Entity channeled 25 tons of aid as part of the solidarity of Peruvian companies in the face of a disaster.

As a result of the damage left by Cyclone Yaku as it passed through the north of the country, the private sector quickly activated itself to send donations to the victims who were affected by the heavy rains. These donations arrived from Lima to the city of Trujillo and were delivered to the Regional Government of La Libertad with the support of INDECI, within the framework of the agenda that President Dina Boluarte had in the capital of La Libertad.

In total, 25 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of food and beverages were delivered, which may relieve some 550 families affected by the rains. The delivery was made at the COER warehouses as part of the Punche Regional campaign.

It is expected that today, the GORE will deliver these donations to the most needy population, in accordance with a prioritization by GORE itself. “The private sector has been activated as quickly as possible, and we hope that the local and regional authorities will act as quickly to deliver this aid to the affected families,” said Juan Manuel Arribas, Executive Director of Shoulder to Shoulder, who was present. during delivery to the regional government.

President Dina Boluarte thanked the union of Shoulder to Shoulder and various private sectors that made it possible for these donations to reach different parts of the country, especially the most affected districts in our region.

The Shoulder to Shoulder business movement is the entity that has been collecting and channeling donations from companies, working closely with INDECI so that help from the private sector reaches where it is most needed. At this time, it continues to collect non-perishable food, drinks and hygiene and cleaning items to deliver to other areas of the country.
