Tragedy inside Kanjuruhan StadiumMalang, who killed hundreds of Arema FC fans on Saturday (1/10), has become a terrible disaster for Indonesia, especially for football fans.
The death toll was previously rumored to have reached 174 people, but the government corrected it to 125 supporters, under the pretext of suspected double registration of the victims.
One of the highlights was the police who were criticized for shooting tear gas, not only on the pitch, but also in the stands.
In fact, FIFA has even banned tear gas and firearms for crowd management inside stadiums.
The East Java BPBD revealed that audiences got short of breath as they tried to avoid tear gas, until they were pushed and trampled by other onlookers.
PSSI hopes FIFA will not take decisions or sanctions that harm Indonesia due to this incident.
