VIVA – Giving booster vaccine being intensified, especially after the outbreak of positive cases of the Omicron variant of the corona. This booster vaccine or third dose of vaccine is considered to be able to increase the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine that has been accepted by the public.

Given that over time, the effectiveness of dose 1 vaccine can weaken, so that protection against the virus decreases. Therefore, additional vaccines are given to regenerate antibodies and prolong protection.

The provision of booster vaccines is currently only targeting the public, especially the elderly, and people over the age of 18 who have received a complete primary dose of vaccination at least three months earlier.

If the data is already available, after 6 months it has decreased, then it is reported to be submitted to the BPOM of each country, ” said Prof. Hindra in a virtual conference, Thursday 10 November 2022.
