Before 01:00 on Monday, several shots were fired at a home in Hunndalen outside Gjøvik after there had allegedly been a threatening situation at the site. The police moved out with large crews, and quickly cordoned off a large area. OA was on the scene at 02.00 and was then told to keep a good distance.
The police are said to have received several tips about the situation at approximately the same time, approximately every quarter to one. There must have been people inside the house when the shots were fired.
Operations leader Ulf Sørumgård told Oppland Arbeiderblad at the scene at 02:00 that the situation is very serious. The police on the scene were equipped with bulletproof vests and weapons.
– Perpetrator has left the scene. There is a very high degree of seriousness when shots are fired, he said.
No damage
Operations manager Haagen Løvseth told OA that there were no injuries to any people at the scene, and that they do not want to say more about the incident at 02.30. At 4 o’clock the situation was the same.
– We are still working both with intelligence and operatively on the case, and are not going to give any more information about the incident now, Løvseth told Oppland Arbeiderblad.
No arrests had yet been reported.
– We don’t want to comment anything more about it now, said Løvseth.
– The most important thing is that there is no danger to other people as we see it right now, said the operations manager at 02.30.
At 02.30 there was still a large police presence in the area, although several police patrols had left the area. Forensic technicians were, among other things, in place for a while before they left the scene before 04:00.
Thrifty police
Operations manager Løvseth told NTB that at 03:00 the police could not say anything about who they think is behind the shooting. Both operations manager Løvseth and operations manager Sørumgård were sparing with information to the press.
An OA tipster believes he knows that the perpetrator or perpetrators must have left the scene in a car after the shooting. The police have confirmed to NRK that there are witnesses to the shooting.
The police have refused to answer several questions about the case to NTB and OA.
As far as OA knows, the home that was shot at is divided into several housing units.
