Several athletes from the Shotokan Karate Institute of Sept-Îles shone in national competition last weekend in Quebec.
The collection of medals is impressive to say the least with a total of 36.
” Congratulations to all participants. You have worked hard. I am proud of you. Don’t forget that the medal is not what is most important, but surpassing oneself”, mentioned the head instructor, Sensei Marco Coulombe.
Alain Méthot, Eliam Carrier, Mathis Pineault, Élise Bellerive and Jacob Jialong Liu took medals in packs of three, particularly in different colours.
Moreover, the IKSSI will be well represented in October for a competition in Argentina.
Alain Méthot, Nancy Lévesque, Julie Roy, Jenny Cummings and Eliam Carrier will be part of Team Canada at the 14e Pan American Championship.
