Shot her husband four days after the wedding

A woman (30) in Texas is accused of having shot her husband (31), just four days after they promised each other love and eternal fidelity.

The 30-year-old even called the police at ten o’clock on the evening of April 25 and claimed that her husband had been shot by an unknown person while they were sitting in the car.

When police arrived at the scene, the couple’s car had crashed into a garden. In the driver’s seat, the husband sat lifeless.

The wife claimed to the police that a person had stopped them along the road and shot her husband through the window on the passenger side. This person must then have thrown the weapon into the car and then fled on foot.

Revealed by surveillance cameras

During the investigation, it was established that the woman made illogical and contradictory explanations on several occasions.

Police concluded that the only person who could have shot and killed the man was the wife herself.

Investigators found scratch marks on the woman’s body, as well as a swollen finger. She herself claimed that the injuries came when she fought to get hold of the firearm.

Surveillance videos from the scene show that there was never a man near the couple’s car. The video material shows that the car drove as normal before it suddenly crashed into the garden.

Previously convicted

According to court records from Denton County, the woman has previously been convicted of aggravated assault in 2017. In 2021, she pleaded guilty to reporting false sexual accusations against a police officer.

The woman’s sister-in-law tells the daily newspaper Denton Record-Chronicle that the brother was a victim of domestic violence and that he was abused by the accused woman.

The 30-year-old was produced for custody on Wednesday 25 May. The bail is set at 500,000 US dollars, equivalent to 4.7 million kroner.
