Shortly before the end: streaker at basketball quarterfinals

A few seconds before the end of the game, an incident occurs in the basketball quarter-finals. However, the streaker can only be seen very briefly on TV.

A streaker disrupted proceedings in the Olympic basketball quarterfinals between hosts France and Germany just before the end of the game. Wearing shorts and a T-shirt with lyrics by rapper Eminem, the man entered the court in the Paris arena in the final minute. The man was immediately and uncompromisingly taken down by security forces. The spectators, who were actually euphoric about the French basketball team’s 84:71 victory, whistled.
It was initially unclear what the man on the field was up to. He stretched out both arms and presented himself to the less than enthusiastic audience in the Bercy Arena. The TV picture quickly switched off and the man was only briefly visible in the broadcast.
Streakers are unusual in basketball, unlike in football. There were repeated incidents at the European Football Championship in Germany. Many of the troublemakers wanted a photo with Portugal’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
