Short week experiment? Intesa San Paolo will try with its employees

It will be the largest bank in Italy (there are 174,000 employees) to be the first to experiment with a new method of distributing working hours and company organization than in other parts of Europe. The proposal that Intesa San Paolo will make to its employees may or may not be accepted and provides for an increase in the daily working hours which will become 9, but they will only work for four days a week for a total of 36 hours. However, the salary of employees who agree to take part in this trial will remain unchanged, even if in fact there will be a reduction in the total number of hours which, to date, is distributed over five days and corresponds to a total of 37 and a half hours.

But why will a measure of this type be tested by the largest Bank of Italy in the wake of numerous other tests conducted in other parts of Europe?
