Both Bērziņš in the 500 meters and Roberts Krūzbergs in the 1000 meters started with satisfaction the last day of competition in Salt Lake City. Kruzberg reached the quarter-finals, where he did not overtake any competitor in his skating and was ranked 18th in the overall distance.
Bērziņš, on the other hand, made it through the quarter-finals, but in the fight for a place in the main final, he finished third in his semi-final by skating and reached final B. Starting from final B, Bērziņš was the second fastest, but the Dutch Jens van Tvout won the absolute distance.
It has already been announced that Bērziņš Saturday at 1500 meters won 3rd place and for the first time in his career he entered the top three winners in such a high-level competition.
In the overall standings of the season after two stages, Bērziņš is fifth in the 1500 meters, while Kruzbergs occupies the same high position in the 1000 meters.
The World Cup season will continue in December with two stops in Kazakhstan and in February there will be two more stops in Germany and Holland.
