Short & sweet: Presi week with Dr. Thomas Remmers, 3rd Vice President of BRAK

Thomas has been admitted to the bar since 1992, is a specialist in administrative law and is a partner in the law firm STOBBE Rechtsanwälte in Hanover. In addition to his notarial work, he primarily advises on commercial and corporate law as well as inheritance law. He has been a member of the board of the Celle Bar Association since 1998 and has been its president since 2008. Thomas has been a member of the BRAK executive board since 2015 and, among other things, has a lot to do with my department… public relations. Thomas has been a supporter of this little podcast project since the first second! He is also responsible for the topics of legal notaries, valuation of law firms, liability insurers, legal protection insurance, migration law, statistics, and – extremely important – legal training. We talk about why the first and second exams are outdated, why the integrated bachelor’s degree is a good idea and why the legal “preparation service” is missing something: preparation for the job. We chat about artificial intelligence and the opportunities it offers, about ChatGPT and about the acute shortage of skilled workers, which is having a dramatic impact, particularly in the area.
