“Short shoot” posting: judge condemns plumber from Linz

The convicted person himself had not even appeared at the trial, allegedly he had not received the summons, he told the judge over the phone and agreed to a hearing in his absence. The trigger for the appointment was a posting on social media with an invitation to murder, which was directed against ex-Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. The judge emphasized in the context that the Internet is not an unlawful area.

The accused had already claimed in advance that he had not dropped the post, a hacker was responsible for it. He personally has no problem with Kurz or the Corona measures.

In fact, however, this does not coincide with other statements made by the man on social media, so that the trial ultimately resulted in a – not final – guilty verdict. The judge sentenced the defendant to a fine of 3,600 euros.
