Dear coordinator of the newspaper O PAIS, greetings and have a great Thursday! The heavy rains that have fallen over the province of Luanda in recent times have exposed the reality of the roads in the Angolan capital.
Potholes, ponds and even lagoons are visible on some roads in Luanda, which is why in some places there are “sapador” operations.
Local administrative authorities, in some cases, do not have many technical means to respond to specific situations.
Apparently not, this has increased car traffic on the city’s main arteries, as well as on the outskirts.
As is evident, taxi drivers take advantage of the situation and shorten routes by charging prices above the established amount.
In the morning and at the end of the day, citizens suffer at stops, in fact public transport is unable to respond to the interests of the province of Luanda.
Even with the presence of police officers on the ground, in plain clothes, taxi drivers don’t want to know, they take advantage of the situation and take what little they already have from the citizen’s pocket.
I think the authorities should be more serious, because citizens suffer more than they should in Luanda when it comes to public transport and other services.
It doesn’t look good to see floods in the bus stops and leaders without doing something to reverse the situation. It’s been chaos!
Lito Ombela,
Luanda
