Riga, June 16, LETA. The Riga International Short Film Festival “2Annas” will take place next year from April 7 to April 13, and by December 1 of this year, filmmakers, producers, film studios, students and other interested parties are invited to submit their short and medium-length films made in the last two years. years.

According to Laima Graždanoviča, the festival’s representative, LETA was informed that the films can be submitted in four competition categories: the International Short Film Competition, the Baltic Short Film Competition, the International Medium-Length Film Competition, and the International Children’s and Youth Short Film Competition.

The festival team points out that the competition focuses on the search for new languages, themes and means of expression in contemporary cinema, using short and medium-length films of all genres. The team is looking for films and directors who transcend both artistic and technical boundaries.

Filmmakers from the Baltics are especially invited to submit their entries – registration is free for representatives of these countries, and the winners of this competition will receive a valuable prize for further creative work in cooperation with BBRental.

The films will compete for the main prize – a statue of “Golden Anna”, while the winners of the Baltic Short Film Competition and other categories, including the best animation and best documentary short films, will receive “Anna” plaster. The films will be judged by an international jury, but in the category of children’s and young people’s short films, the main judges will be young film enthusiasts.

The organizers of the festival note that this year, 74 best short films from 35 countries were selected and screened in the competition of more than 2,000 films at the 2Annu Festival. The festival is a platform not only for creative growth, but also for making new contacts. It provides an opportunity to get to know short films and film professionals from Europe and the world, meeting both during film screenings and industry days, and in an informal atmosphere at the parties and events offered by the festival.
