Shops open, sports are allowed again: these are all the relaxation in a row

The Netherlands will be a part of the lock again from Saturday. Shops are allowed to open until five o’clock in the afternoon and sports are allowed again for a large part. The catering and cultural sector will remain closed for the time being. Below you can read an overview of the corona rules from Saturday.

  • All shops are allowed to open until 5 p.m.
  • Hairdressers, nail salons, sex workers and people with other contact professions can resume their work until five o’clock in the afternoon.
  • The so-called ‘essential shops’, such as supermarkets and drugstores, are allowed to open until eight o’clock in the evening.
  • Excepted services such as gas stations, pharmacies, libraries, driving schools, the notary or lawyer are open.
  • The catering industry remains closed. It is possible to order and pick up.
  • All sports activities and art and culture (for example music, drama and dance) indoors and outdoors is possible again.
  • Sports competitions within the own club are also possible again.
  • The public is not yet welcome at sports competitions.
  • Cinemas, museums, theaters and concert halls must also remain closed for the time being.
  • The advice for the maximum group size is four people (over the age of thirteen) from Saturday.
  • Keep 1.5 meters away everywhere.
  • If you have complaints, stay at home and use a self-test. If you have a positive result, have yourself tested at the GGD.
  • The mouth cap obligation and the advice is being expanded. No more cloth face masks.
  • Anyone who has a booster shot of at least a week old or who has already had corona in 2022 does not have to quarantine immediately after close contact with an infected person.
  • The quarantine advice for people in crucial professions who have not had a booster or infection is still being worked out.
