A must for all vintage fans! The shop with the funny name is one of the best vintage stores in New York. Girls with a special taste will find cool clothes and a very large selection of luxury bags from various brands here. My favorite part is the part of the store with the old biker boots, cowboy hats, and rock t-shirts. Here I always find something stylish for a special look. Henrik Vibskov is a designer from Copenhagen and in his boutique in SoHo sells not only his extravagant creations but also wearable pieces by other well-known designers. The selection is very exquisite. In addition to clothes, there are also accessories and jewelry – also for men. So: take heart! I especially like the selection of perfumes. There are scented waters here that you won’t find anywhere else. Definitely try it out! Adresse: 456 Broome St. www.henrikvibskovboutique.com

Williams Sonoma is one of my favorite chain stores in the US. There are kitchen goods and cooking utensils of all kinds here. From baking to roasting: everything a chef’s heart desires. Gorgeous! I always buy the delicious pancake mix that just tastes “amazing”. There are several retail locations in Manhattan. My favorite shop is on Columbus Circle. Something is always conjured up in the large show kitchen. It smells wonderful, especially at Christmas time, and you can try all kinds of delicacies from the kitchen. Abc carpet & home in the Flatiron District is a Manhattan institution and one of my favorite stores. The eight-story house is the world’s largest shop for carpets and antiques, furniture, fashion, gifts and accessories. The choice is so large that it is also called “Disneyland for rich adults”. In the restaurant in the entrance area there are delicious snacks to recharge your batteries after shopping. Address: 888 Broadway. www.abchome.com

Now we come to the men. To be more precise: to real guys. Because the fashion of the Copenhagen label HAN is for men with character. Anyone who likes off-the-peg clothes should avoid the little shop in NoLita. Everyone else will find great pieces here: modern and contemporary, clear and to the point. One of the coolest shops for men! Address: 27 Prince St.reet. www.hankjobenhavn.com

The No. 6 store in the Little Italy district is two in one – two in one: a shop for selected designer fashion from up-and-coming fashion designers and a shop for vintage fashion. The vintage shop was named the best vintage shop in New York by the American “Vogue”. Even Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow raves about No. 6 stores. I think it’s a must on a shopping tour in the Big Apple. Address: 6 Center Market Place. www.no6store.com

The “Bed, Bath & Beyond” is always a stop for me when I’m in New York. Here I find a lot that I can’t get for my home in Switzerland. The huge shop has everything for the house, from bed linen to traditional fabric shower curtains, scented pillows and garden furniture. Just awesome. Although goods have recently been sent home to Switzerland via the Internet, shopping in the New York flagship store is an experience in itself. Address: 620 6th Ave. www.bedbathandbeyond.com

After shopping, I often go to the La Esquina restaurant: from the outside it looks like a normal American diner, inside it turns out to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. You have to go through the kitchen into the cellar to the restaurant. Very special! Make a reservation in good time. And you can also shop a bit here: Foodies should definitely take the salsa dips with them. Tastes great with tortilla chips! Address: 114 Kenmare. www.esquinanyc.com
