Shoppers at the Valledupar Market complained about parking restrictions

Buyers from the Valledupar Public Market showed their dissatisfaction because the restrictions of the Ministry of Transport for the control of vehicles in the area are affecting their sales.

According to what was explained to the merchant Claudio Rueda, who is from the hardware and agricultural products department, the situation is because the transit agency has installed no parking signs and electronic detection, which affects them because the vehicles cannot park. to perform loading and unloading operations.

“Any customer who arrives in the area leaves because once the patrol arrives they issue fines and this has led to sales going down fines, it’s a situation which has been going on for three months,” said Claudio Rueda.

In this sense, they ask the Secretary of Transportation of the City, Alberto Daza, to evaluate the conditions under which they work in terms of fines and limited spaces in the Public Market sector.

“We wrote a letter that we delivered to the Mayor’s Office addressed to Mayor Ernesto Orozco and we are waiting for an answer,” said the merchant.

Because of this situation, they claim that sales have fallen by 60%, which represents a million dollar loss when they have to pay suppliers, employees, public services, among others.

Alejandra Ovallos, a business owner in the region, pointed out that the presence of traffic wardens is a scary fine for customers because they prefer to go to other commercial centers because they do not have a place to park their vehicles while ‘ what they are buying.
