Shooting of the film “The Landlord” begins in Hannover-Linden

On Monday, the shooting of the short film “Die Vermieterin” with a prominent cast begins in Linden. The actress Nadeshda Brennicke, who is known from numerous television productions, but also from movies such as “Banklady”, is there. Alexander Milo also plays, who is known to many through the series “Unter Uns”. The director is Joe Paul Kienast, who was born in Wedemark and who has already drawn attention to himself with his short film “The Couch”.

There were stressful weeks behind the team, because not only did the shoot have to be organized, but the hygiene measures necessary for corona had to be taken. He had worked out a 40-page hygiene concept, a “real board”, reports producer Christian Hofmann from the production company Greatartig, who already worked with director Kienast on the short film “Die Couch”.

Daily corona tests for the actors

Before things really start on Tuesday, the entire team will be tested on Monday, says co-producer Torsten Grimmelt, who, like the director, comes from Wedemark and lives in Hanover. The actors and actresses would then be tested daily. In order to ensure that the 15-strong film team rarely meets and can work in the smallest possible groups, they also rented a lot of space.

If you want to know exactly how the shoot works, you can also click on the work Instagram follow. The shooting will take place in a loft apartment on the former Hanomag site until February 14th. The film is about a woman, Valerie Niemann, who lives secluded in her apartment. But when her neighbor lets her boyfriend move in, Valerie wakes memories of a traumatic experience and it turns out that Nico is a real danger.

The appeal of the psychological film

This short film is about sexual violence – hard stuff. He has respect for the popcorn cinema, because it also finances his work through film funding, says producer Hofmann. But psychological films attracted him more.

Another concern of the film crew: They also want to push Hanover as a film location. “Nobody has Hanover on the map like that,” says Hofmann. Since such a story could happen anywhere, the city itself is not mentioned in the film, but attentive viewers can recognize it. The filmmakers want to show an aerial view of Hanover right at the beginning of the film.
