NEW YORK — A shooting that erupted overnight from Sunday to Monday left at least one dead and eight injured in the Harlem neighborhood, New York police said.
Police called around 12:40 a.m. to reports of gunshots in a footpath along FDR Drive found five injured people who were taken to hospital.
Four other people also injured by bullets presented themselves for treatment. A 21-year-old man has been pronounced dead. Six men and two women are among the injured.
The investigation continued on Monday and the police were still trying to clarify the case.
Police said on Twitter that they found a weapon at the scene. They are asking for the public’s help to figure out what happened.
