Shots were fired on the corner of Poelestraat and Oosterstraat in Groningen in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Two people were injured.
The incident took place at 2:55 am. Shots were fired several times. The police arrested a suspect around 6:15 am on Thursday. “He is in custody and will be interrogated as soon as possible,” the police report on X.
Five shots
Two students were out and about in the Ninde Cirkel, a little further down the Poelestraat. As they walked outside, they heard “five shots.” “The doorman said to us: someone has been shot, you can’t pass here. At first I thought it was fireworks,” said one of them. “Everything was shut down immediately.”
After the shooting, two members of Vindicat left the club on the Grote Markt to get some fries. When they walked to the Snack Hoek cafeteria, where the shooting took place, everything was already cordoned off. “I live close to the beauty salon where the explosion occurred the day before, so this scares me,” says one of the students.
