Police are at the scene of a shooting in Monterey Park, Los Angeles County, California, with multiple victims, Reuters reported.
According to the local police, quoted by the “Los Angeles Times”, the shooting happened around 10 o’clock in the evening at a place where the Chinese Lunar New Year was being celebrated.
It is not clear how many people were injured and whether the suspected shooter has been caught.
Tens of thousands took part in the celebration earlier in the day.
Streets in the area are cordoned off.
The Los Angeles Times quoted a restaurant owner as saying that those who sought refuge with him had reported a man with an automatic weapon in the area. According to the restaurateur, the shooting took place in a nightclub.
