Philadelphia, PA – A shooting incident on Wednesday night left two people injured, including a 4-year-old girl. The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on the 2000 block of Clementine Street, according to Philadelphia police.
The victims, a 4-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man, were both standing in an open doorway when an unidentified individual opened fire on the property. The girl was shot in the stomach and was immediately rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she is currently listed in stable condition. The man sustained gunshot wounds to his stomach and leg and was taken to an area hospital, also in stable condition.
Approximately 15 shots were fired at the scene, causing damage to the home where the victims reside. Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small stated, “The home where both of these victims were standing when they were shot was also struck several times by gunfire. So it appears that the shooter or shooters were intentionally firing gunshots at this property.”
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Police believe that the suspect or suspects may have fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the police at 215-686-TIPS.
