Shooting in Groningen village: 8 arrests | Inland

The shooting took place around 8.45 pm on the Dorpsstraat in Kiel-Windeweer, a village of about eight hundred inhabitants. “We arrived on the scene soon after,” says a police spokesman. “We initially arrested four people there. There were two more arrests, and then another two, ”says a police spokesman.

The suspects are currently being taken to a detention center. They will probably be heard on Saturday night.

Injured

It appears that the shooting incident took place on the street. The suspects may have been in cars. “But the exact circumstances must be apparent from investigation,” said the police spokesman.

The police cannot say anything about any motive. Initially it was not entirely clear whether there were injuries. It turned out that a man, one of the suspects, had been injured in the foot. “He gets medical treatment for that.” For the time being, that seems to be the only victim.
