Two people were seriously injured in a shooting at Purmerend station this evening. Police say both victims were taken to hospital “in serious condition”. The shooter is on the run.
The shooting incident happened around 8 p.m. The emergency services arrived en masse to the station. The police are conducting investigations on the spot. Train traffic to and from Purmerend was therefore stopped. The NS has deployed buses.
A police spokesperson said that the victims were two young. At least one of them is a minor.

The police have started a search for the perpetrator. According to NH sniffer dogs and a police helicopter were deployed. No description has been released yet.
