It is possible that very soon the Russian army will lose Bakhmut, to the capture of which the fighters of the private military company “Wagners” under the leadership of Yevgeny Prigozhin made a big contribution, and thus the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu “dug a grave” for Prigozhin, writes unian.net.
Even if the order to destroy Prigozhin was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin, then “documents, folders like that, you know, with news about ‘Wagner’, were definitely prepared by Shoigu,” military expert Mikhail Pritula said on YouTube.
“Well, first of all, it was done too defiantly, you know, in a military way. That is – destroy the plane so that everyone can see that he did it. Why exactly at this moment – in principle it is understandable. The thing is that Shoigu Bakhmut is not doing very well … This is where problems begin, big problems for Shoigu, because he will lose the city,” said the expert.
According to him, in this way Shoigu would be responsible for losing Prigozhin’s “booty”. “And in this way, Prigozhin would promote this situation very strongly in the media, and Shoigu could lose his position only because he could not hold Bakhmut. Shoigu was forced to lose a large part of his reserves in Bakhmut,” emphasized Pritula.
The expert added that this critically threatening situation for Shoigu forced him to act quickly. “Well, of course, the date of Prigozhin’s liquidation was chosen on August 23, as if to emphasize that two months have passed, and that’s it – the issue has been resolved,” the analyst believes.
We remind you that at the end of May, Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed that Bakhmut was completely occupied, but the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian fighters control some objects in the city.
It later became known that the Ukrainian defenders launched a counterattack and liberated a large part of the ground, including in the direction of Bakhmut. At the end of July, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Alexander Sirskyi, said that all the conditions had been created for the liberation of Bakhmut, and, according to him, the Russian army was under siege in the city, which is still being reported.
