On Monday morning, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived on a working visit to China, where he delivered a report at the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum on “The Responsibility of Major Powers and Cooperation in Global Security.”

During his speech, Sergei Shoigu announced the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces since the start of the offensive. According to him, the Ukrainian armed forces have lost about 90 thousand soldiers and 600 tanks.
„Only from June 4 – i.e. since the beginning of the widely publicized and generously sponsored by the West Ukrainian counteroffensive – Kiev has lost over 90 thousand killed and wounded soldiers, about six hundred tanks and almost 1900 armored vehicles of various types. classes. At the same time, no tactically significant successes were achieved on the battlefield.” Shoigu clarified.
On the sidelines of the forum, Shoigu also held talks with the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Council of the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Yuxia.
During a meeting with him, Shoigu gave the following assessment of the world situation: “Unfortunately, the military-political situation in the world is not calming down. New sources of tension appear and old ones are exacerbated. In essence, this is the result of geopolitical adventures and selfish neo-colonial actions of the West. In contrast to the general alarming situation, a Russian-Chinese comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction is being built.
In addition, the Minister of Defense called absolutely groundless the claims of the West against Russia for the alleged lowering of the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons: “These accusations are absolutely baseless. Russia’s nuclear doctrine has not changed and still provides for the use of nuclear weapons in only two cases: in response to an enemy nuclear strike or in the presence of a threat to Russia’s very existence, even if conventional weapons are used against it.
